V Air unveils "Black Bear livery aircraft" with conservation-themed fuselage and cabin

V Air today (16th) announced a comprehensive conservation initiative in partnership with the Taiwan Black Bear Conservation Association. In recent years, the population of Taiwan black bears has sharply declined due to environmental destruction and human interference, leading to their classification as an endangered protected species. V Air stated that in addition to conservation efforts, it will launch a black bear-themed flight.

The Taiwan black bear is one of the most representative animals native to Taiwan and also the inspiration behind V Air’s corporate logo and mascot, "Wei Bear." General Manager Long Zhangqi said: “The Wei Bear-themed marketing has quickly gained recognition and goodwill in the market.” Faced with the conservation challenge, we should take action to protect Taiwan black bears.

V Air and the Taiwan Black Bear Conservation Association have jointly launched a three-year conservation plan comprising five initiatives across four areas: education, volunteering, donations, and promotion. The plan commenced in October 2015, featuring monthly columns; encouraging employee participation in volunteer services, donating NT$10 for every Wei Bear sold; and launching an online Wei Bear piggy bank charity sale with all proceeds going to the Taiwan Black Bear Conservation Association.
