Taichung Xinshe Flower Sea Opens to Crowds of Visitors – 5 Viewing Tips and Helpful Reminders

The “2015 Xinshe Flower Sea and Taichung Flower Carpet Festival” opened on November 7th. The endless sea of flowers is a perfect choice for autumn getaways. But on the first day, massive crowds caused heavy traffic on all three main roads leading to Xinshe District, and the free parking areas were almost completely full.To address the situation, Wang Yichuan, director of the Taichung City Transportation Bureau, encouraged visitors to take public transport instead of driving, “use shuttles instead of private cars,” expanded traffic control measures, and provided five flower-viewing tips and traffic-avoidance tricks for travelers.

The Taichung City Government arranged four dedicated shuttle bus lines and 15 bus routes to the venue, along with traffic controls giving priority passage to shuttles and buses using exclusive lanes.For those driving themselves, it's advised to visit on weekdays and arrive before 9 AM to avoid congestion. When parking near the flower fields reaches capacity, traffic controls will be extended to restrict vehicle access to the venue.

Flower-Viewing Friendly Reminder:
1. Those planning to see the flower seashould bring plenty of water and protect against sun exposure. Also, weekends are extremely crowded with serious traffic — please be prepared for that.
2. As the site spans dozens of hectares,if you encounter any issues onsite—such as looking for someone, losing an item, or feeling unwell—please go to the United Service Center,open daily from 8 AM to 5 PM (08:00～17:00) during the flower sea period. Contact numbers: 04-25825466, 04-25825467.
3. The area is very large,with toilets mainly located in three spots: (1) the shuttle bus station, (2) the second parking lot, and (3) opposite the third parking lot (behind the Seedling Farm Office).

(2) High-Speed Rail & Taiwan Rail: Weekdays — transfer to city buses at Taichung Railway Station; Weekends — take a shuttle from Fengyuan Railway Station to the exhibition area.
(3) Shuttle Buses: Departure from 08:00 to 16:00, Return from 10:00 to 18:00 (same for weekdays and weekends)
