Great news for Hong Kong and Macau travelers: Taichung offers free airport shuttle service, with private transfers to your hotel

The Taichung City Government’s Tourism and Travel Bureau has launched the “Taichung ChingChuanKang Airport Free Shuttle Bus Card.” Visitors arriving at Taichung ChingChuanKang Airport from Hong Kong will be provided with a private transfer directly to their city hotel. A total of 500 cards are available on a first-come, first-served basis; Hong Kong and Macau travelers must book through the Taiwan Visitors Association, Hong Kong Office.

According to statistics from the Tourism Bureau under the Ministry of Transportation and Communications, the total number of visitors to 21 major recreational attractions in Taichung City reached 37.39 million between January and November 2015, an increase of approximately 450,000 compared to the 36.94 million recorded during the same period in 2014, marking a growth rate of 1.22%. The Tourism Bureau has partnered with private travel agencies and starting now, any visitor arriving at Taichung ChingChuanKang Airport from Hong Kong will be given a “Taichung ChingChuanKang Airport Free Shuttle Bus Card,” which includes a private transfer directly to their city hotel. A total of 500 cards are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Hong Kong and Macau travelers must make a reservation with the Taiwan Visitors Association, Hong Kong Office, and present their Taichung electronic ticket, hotel accommodation proof, and either their entry permit for Taiwan or passport to redeem the card within two weeks prior to departure.
