Fly to Aung San Suu Kyi’s hometown – Myanmar and Palau to launch direct flights to Taipei on the 26th!

The Taiwanese skies will be bustling at the end of January. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that two airlines — Myanmar International Airlines and Myanmar National Airlines — are set to officially launch their first direct flights to Taipei later this month, while Palau Pacific Airways is also scheduled to begin its first Taipei service on the 30th. All three are full-service carriers, not budget airlines.

Located in the Indochina Peninsula, Myanmar is best known for the Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon, and Aung San Suu Kyi is an iconic figure. Travelers can also extend their trip to places such as Mandalay and Bagan. Due to its simple local customs and rich collection of Buddhist historical relics, the country is favored by seasoned travelers. Currently, only China Airlines operates a direct route between Taipei and Yangon. Jin Yuan-Dong International Travel Service, which represents Myanmar International Airlines, said the airline will commence service on January 26, with three flights per week (Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays). The other carrier, Myanmar National Airlines, will operate three weekly flights between Taipei and Yangon (Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays).
