The fourth Kura Sushi store confirmed to open at Linkou Mitsui Outlet Park, expected to launch in spring

Japan’s top three conveyor belt sushi chain, Kura Sushi (くら寿司), after opening stores in Taipei’s Songjiang Nanjing and Taichung’s Guang San SOGO, as well as JC PARK in Zhongli (opened January 19), now has a fourth location. Reporters found the Kura Sushi space under renovation on the basement level of Mitsui Outlet Park, which opened on January 27. Fans of conveyor belt sushi in the Linkou area won’t have long to wait before they can enjoy affordable, tasty sushi and play the surprise-filled gashapon machines. As for the opening date, Taiwan Kura Sushi stated that since construction has only just begun, an exact date cannot yet be given, but it will definitely open in spring.

Whether at Songjiang Nanjing, Taichung’s Guang San SOGO, or JC PARK in Zhongli, all sushi at Kura Sushi (くら寿司) is priced uniformly at NT$40 per plate. In addition to sushi, customers can also choose from options like ramen and udon. Taiwan Kura Sushi General Manager Kentaro Nishikawa mentioned that the chain decided to expand into Taiwan mainly because the company president felt deeply grateful for Taiwan’s support for Japan after the 311 earthquake, coupled with outreach from Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs. Market research began four years ago, and the first Taiwan store finally opened in December 2014. ⟦
