The first time, I didn’t bring a camera so I forgot to take photos, and this time I forgot again~But it was so delicious that I took out my phone and snapped a few casual shots right away, capturing the flavors instantly to share with everyone.

Actually, this Li Xue La Jiao is my second visit of the year. The first time, I didn’t bring a camera so I forgot to take photos, and this time I forgot again~But it was so delicious that I took out my phone and snapped a few casual shots right away, capturing the flavors instantly to share with everyone.

Those who often follow lifestyle vloggers must know I’m a big fan of Sichuan food. However, most Sichuan restaurants in Taipei—apart from Tian Fu Jia Chang Cai (Tian Fu Home-style Dishes), which I previously introduced near Dingxi MRT Station (review here:(Food | New Taipei City | Dingxi Station) Tian Fu Home-style Dishes — A super “?” Sichuan place you’ll definitely be turned away after 7:30pm!! Super delicious recommendations!))—mostly lean toward Taiwanese flavors (not spicy or numbing, way too local).

All in all~Li Xue Sichuan Restaurant is definitely the best Sichuan eatery I’ve had recently, and it’s already on my must-go list. The only downside is the long drive, as it’s located on Rui Guang Road, which isn’t the most convenient spot. But enough chit-chat, let’s check out the dishes~

Li Xue Spicy and Sour Potato Shreds – NT$228

Li Xue is a Taiwanese woman married to someone from Sichuan. In her hometown, “potatoes” refer to what we call “potatoes,” tossed with her special sauce. It’s truly an appetizer masterpiece that makes you want to keep eating more.

Li Xue Ice-Brewed Red Tomatoes – NT$198

This dish is very simple~just rock sugar and beef tomatoes, with no added seasonings or plums. It not only cools down the spiciness~but also stimulates the appetite!

Ultimate Golden Sand Pork Ribs – NT$288

The owner told me this is a skillful dish!It involves tedious and elaborate preparation. “Golden sand” is known to be salted egg yolk, but here it’s different from other restaurants—the texture is especially smooth and delicate. Turns out they manually beat the yolk until fluffy. Really delicious~If you don’t order this, you might as well not have come!!!

Dry-Fried Green Beans – NT$258

Highly recommended by your friendly lifestyle vlogger. To judge how good a Sichuan restaurant is, I think ordering the most basic green beans says it all. How well they’re fried~whether the heat control is just right, keeping the moisture without being undercooked—that’s the real art!!!I give Li Xue a 90/100~

Dry-Braised Shrimp Balls – NT$368

First off, Li Xue’s shrimp are top-notch because they’re super fresh and not soaked in chemicals. Her dry-braising sauce is also first-class, no doubt about it. Eat it once and you’ll be hooked!

Prosperous Rich Soup Braised Chicken – NT$1320 (requires one-day advance booking)

If you love chicken soup, you can give this a try. Compared to the famous Sichuan restaurant Ji Yuan, I think the price here is much more affordable. But personally, I still prefer the broth at the old place. That said, Li Xue’s chicken soup is less greasy and feels more nourishing.

Mildly Spicy Soup Dumplings – NT$248

Honestly, they’re not spicy at all. After trying a few other dishes, these may feel very light. But they also offer super-spicy soup dumplings made with bird’s eye chilies. They have an intense afterburn~Not recommended for the faint-hearted—you’ll get a fiery surprise~~~

Besides these, the lifestyle vlogger also recommends a few must-orders: Mapo Tofu and Boiled Beef. Everyone was digging in so fast there wasn’t a chance to snap photos. These are definitely worth trying, and you can check out my friend MAX’s blog for more detailed info!>>>Li Xue La Jiao: Authentic Sichuan cuisine in Taiwan that will move you!An irreplaceable soul of genuine Sichuan flavor
