Pingtung’s “Shanchuan Glass Suspension Bridge” to close for 46 days starting tomorrow, fees to begin on April 16

Taiwan’s hottest southern attraction, the “Shanchuan Glass Suspension Bridge,” will be closed for 46 days starting March 1 for surrounding facility upgrades and is expected to reopen on April 16 with an entry fee.

The Shanchuan Glass Suspension Bridge is the longest hammock-style suspension bridge in Taiwan. Since its trial operation in late 2015, it has averaged 4,000 visitors per day, making it a super-popular southern Taiwan destination. The Pingtung County Government stated that to ensure better safety and recreational quality, the bridge will be closed for 46 days starting March 1 and is expected to reopen to the public on April 16.

The county government also announced that starting April 16, an admission and maintenance fee will be charged for the Shanchuan Glass Suspension Bridge: NT$50 for adults, NT$30 for children aged 7–12, seniors aged 65 and over (and indigenous people aged 55 and over), and Pingtung residents (ID required); children aged 6 and under are free. Group tickets for parties of 30 or more are NT$40 per person.
