New Chairman of Tigerair Taiwan, Dong Xiaohang, Assumes Office Today

Douglas Hsu, the newly appointed chairman of Tigerair Taiwan, was officially appointed today (1st). The announcement was made by China Airlines Chairman Sun Hongxiang, who expressed his hope that Douglas Hsu will lead Tigerair Taiwan toward continued growth and new heights.

Yu Jianbo, former Senior Vice President of China Airlines and Chairman of Tigerair Taiwan, retired at the end of February this year. As of January 2016, Tigerair Taiwan held a 15.9% market share among the 20 low-cost carriers operating in Taiwan, with both passenger numbers and market share rising month by month. Today (1st), the Tigerair Taiwan Board of Directors appointed Douglas Hsu, Senior Vice President of China Airlines, to assume the concurrent role of Chairman of Tigerair Taiwan.

Douglas Hsu is currently Senior Vice President of China Airlines and holds a Master’s degree in Transportation from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He has previously served in key roles such as General Manager of China Airlines’ Germany and San Francisco branches, and Deputy General Manager of the Corporate Development Division, bringing extensive experience in process improvement and marketing operations.
