The annual Penghu Fireworks Festival will be held from April 18 to June 23. This year, international fireworks teams from Austria, Japan, China, Russia, and Italy have been specially invited to join the celebration,with shows taking place every Monday and Thursday evening, as well as on four Saturdays (April 30, May 7, May 21, and June 18) at the Guanyin Pavilion Leisure Area,and there will also be shows on May 16 in Jibei and June 4 at Aimen Beach;Additionally, smaller-scale “bonus fireworks” will be set off every Friday and Saturday, along with light shows and performances—meaning there’s something happening every day, with an expected attendance of over 300,000 people!

Since its inception in 2003, the Penghu International Sea Fireworks Festival has attracted over 300,000 visitors each summer, generating a tourism revenue of more than 2 billion NTD. This year’s event theme, “Penghu Takes Off, Making the World More Beautiful,” features fireworks teams from Austria, Japan, China, Russia, and Italy. Additionally, the festival introduces the nation’s first O-show theater tech performance, combining flying subtitles and Ferris wheel fireworks for a close-up, thrilling“tech-powered fireworks”experience with incredible impact.

In terms of performances, popular stars such as Wei Leyi, Fire EX., Bii Shijen, and Eric Chou have been invited, along with a special appearance by a Hong Kong pipe band that has never performed on the island before. They will join locally selected performance groups from around Taiwan in showcasing their unique acts. The venue will also feature a “Fireworks Market,” integrating local government agencies, local cultural creativity, handmade crafts, specialty products, charity activities, and DIY interactions to create a fireworks festival experience like no other.
