“See you in Korea, okay? &a” Song Joong-ki Appointed as Tourism Ambassador; His Suit Looks Absolutely Dazzling

Attention all “Song wives”! To promote Korea’s vibrant appeal, the Korea Tourism Organization has selected popular actor Song Joong-ki from the hit drama Descendants of the Sun as the country’s tourism ambassador for this year. The first batch of released photos features Song Joong-ki flashing his signature smile, holding a sign that says “See you in Korea,” along with a big heart—completely melting fans’ hearts.

The Korea Tourism Organization stated that aside from serving as the tourism ambassador, Song Joong-ki will also be the spokesperson for the 2016 Korea Tourism promotional TV commercials. A series of TV videos and print publications will be launched. The tourism promotion ads will primarily feature shooting locations from the drama—Taebaek and Jeongseon in Gangwon Province—as the main backdrops. With the concept of “Walk into the Story,” the experience will engage all five senses, making viewers feel as if they’re part of the ad, almost like the main character. The campaign is expected to be completed by the end of June and officially unveiled in early July.

Song Joong-ki, the newly appointed Korea Tourism promotional ambassador, will make his first public appearance on April 11 at the opening ceremony of K-Style Hub, an initiative established by the Korean government, which he will attend alongside President Park Geun-hye. The K-Style Hub is an interactive experience center built with information and communication technology, serving as a bridge connecting travelers with Korean tourism and culture. The Korea Tourism Organization also plans to soon launch travel products and lectures about the filming locations of Descendants of the Sun in Taiwan.
