Last updated 2026-11-08 — In addition, Li Chengjia, who hails from Donggang in Pingtung, is also a big fan of seafood dishes. He says that if you're looking for affordable and delicious Japanese food in downtown Taipei, his top recommendation is Dawa Japanese Restaurant, located right across from Mei Wu Hua Company. “Dawa is fresh, tasty, and cheap.”

Li Cheng-chia, chairman of HowToTrip’s affiliate Wei Wu Hua Whitehead Biotech Group, started his career as a salesman at a foreign pharmaceutical company. In 1976, he founded his own business and successfully launched the self-created hair care brand “Meei Wu Fa.” In recent years, he has expanded into biotechnology, developing new drugs and smart medical devices. Despite being extremely busy managing affairs every day for 41 years, he jokes that when he’s swamped, he’ll eat anything that fills him up. But among the countless types of cuisine, he has a special fondness for traditional Taiwanese flavors.

“I prefer traditional Taiwanese foods, like street food stalls and noodle stands,” said Li Cheng-chia, who chatted with us about food while taking photos. He especially recommends a traditional noodle stall called “Little East Home,” located near Qingcheng Street and an alley off Changchun Road, close to the headquarters of the Wei Wu Hua Group.

Li Cheng-chia said, “When I’m hungry, anything tastes good to me. Little East Home is right near our company, and I particularly love their noodles and their mixed sliced meats and braised dishes. It’s simple but really flavorful.”

  1. Chen Wen-bin, the owner of Little East Home, started working in the food industry at the age of 13. He continued using the name of his father’s former Japanese-style restaurant, naming his own eatery “Little East Home.”
  2. The mixed soup is also one of Little East Home’s signature dishes. (50 NTD / bowl)
