Spring Has Arrived at Taoyuan Airport — Calla Lilies and Phalaenopsis Bloom in Terminal Halls

To welcome travelers from around the world, soothe the fatigue of long journeys, and showcase the beauty of Taiwan’s flowers, Taoyuan International Airport has decorated the arrival halls of Terminals 1 and 2 with hundreds of calla lilies arranged in lush green spaces to mark spring. Travelers and locals alike can now enjoy the stunning scenery of the Zhucao Lake calla lily fields right at the national gateway — no need to visit Yangmingshan.

　　The first terminal’s “Calla · Timeless Elegance” features calla lilies paired with hinoki cypress and pristine shell sand to create a naturally layered space. The fleeting beauty of the calla lilies, alongside the enduring hinoki, embodies the contrast between transience and permanence. A subtle fragrance of hinoki also fills the air. Meanwhile, the second terminal’s “Happy Calla” combines vibrant rainbow, sun, and airplane motifs with pure white calla lilies, accented by cedar, fortune bamboo, driftwood, asplenium, and moss balls. Passengers frequently stop to take photos here, savoring the joy of encountering spring at the airport. Since cut calla lilies don’t last long, Taoyuan Airport procured 6,000 stems, rotating them in batches every five days to maintain their peak beauty and offer travelers the most delightful experience.

　　In addition, Taiwan’s exported treasure — orchids — is another key highlight in the terminal decorations. Arrangements can be found in the immigration hall of Terminal 1, the north and south arrival corridors of Terminal 2, and even a dedicated section in the boarding gate area showcasing Taiwan’s Phalaenopsis. Many overseas gardening enthusiasts stop here to study and take photos with the orchids, praising Taiwan’s renowned cultivation techniques as the “Kingdom of Orchids.”
