Directed by Chinese-American filmmaker Arvin Chen, the Taiwanese film “Au Revoir Taipei” successfully presents Taipei in a unique light. But in reality, everyone has their own vision of Taipei. What does Taipei look like in your imagination? To encourage public participation in city activities and integrate design concepts and thinking into daily life, the Taipei City Government is hosting the “Taipei Creative Highlights” photo competition as a lead-up event to Design Month. Online registration is open from now until September 20.
To shape Taipei into an international design capital, the Taipei City Government Department of Economic Development commissioned the Taiwan Design Center to implement the “Taipei Creative and Design Industry Development Plan.” Through six major series of events—including the “Taipei Design Capital Workshop,” “Selection of Exemplary Products or Services,” “Taipei Design Month,” “Taipei Industrial Design Award,” “Shaping Characteristic Industry Clusters,” and “Business Opportunity Matching”—the plan injects both software and hardware innovation and design momentum into the city.
Taipei’s night market snacks have long been a popular choice for both locals and tourists looking for a tasty treat.
