Fuji Mountain Desserts So Cute You Won’t Want to Eat Them — Only One Made Per Day

Look at these adorable Fuji Mountain-shaped desserts — they’re really hard to eat. These new treats, recently launched by the dessert shop MACK A WISH in Tainan, come in three flavors: hazelnut chocolate, matcha, and Fuku-cha (hojicha, or roasted tea). Because they are handmade and involve a complex production process, orders must be placed at least two business days in advance, and only one is made per day, priced at NT$250 each.

MACK A WISH CEO Huang Kaixuan said the inspiration for the Fuji Mountain-shaped dessert came during a trip to Japan when he saw the beautiful mountain. The main structure is a cake base, topped with flavored chocolate sauce on the outside, and filled with orange jam and custard inside. For the matcha flavor, the exterior is coated with green matcha chocolate, while the filling consists of orange jam and matcha custard. At the top, where the crater would be, a salted cherry blossom imported from Japan is placed. Since the blossoms have been soaked and are not cheap, Huang recommends tasting them as part of the experience. He also suggests pairing the dessert with genmaicha (brown rice tea) or hojicha (Fuku-cha) to cut through the richness.

Huang explained that making the cake base takes about 30 minutes, but filling, cooling, and coating with chocolate sauce takes one to two hours. As a result, orders for the Fuji Mountain dessert must be placed at least two business days in advance, and only one is produced per day. The dessert has a diameter of about 4 inches and a height of approximately 15 cm, serving 2–3 people. All May reservations are now full, and the next available bookings are for June. Even with a reservation, customers will still need to queue on-site along with walk-in guests.

Reservation guidelines for the Fuji Mountain dessert:
◎ Only one is made per day (flavor does not matter).
◎ Available flavors: Chocolate, Matcha, Fuku-cha (Hojicha).
◎ Reservations must be made “at least two business days in advance.”
◎ Please provide: Full name, phone number, email, and desired reservation date when booking.
◎ Due to the intricate preparation process, serving may take longer than usual. Your understanding is appreciated.
◎ The main structure is a cake base. Each serving is priced at NT$250.
◎ This dessert counts toward the minimum spend for two people (two desserts), and pairing with tea gets you a NT$50 discount.
◎ Currently, reservations are only accepted via the “official Facebook page,” phone bookings are not accepted.
◎ This reservation does not guarantee seating; you will still need to wait in line with other customers.
◎ If you cannot make it, cancellations must be made at least “two business days in advance.” Failure to show up on the reserved day will result in disqualification from future reservations.
◎ The shop is closed every “Tuesday.”
◎ In case of any unclear details, decisions will be made in a way that protects the mutual interests of customers and MACK A WISH.
