The design of China Airlines’ 2012 wall and desk calendars follows the visual theme of the SkyTeam Alliance — bridges — conveying the idea that Taiwan is more closely connected to the world after China Airlines joined the alliance. Featuring elegant China Airlines flight and ground crew in uniform as the main subjects, alongside beautiful bridge landscapes from various countries, the calendars showcase a brand-new image for the airline.
The backgrounds of the wall and desk calendars feature iconic bridges and seasonal scenes from major flight destinations across Asia, the Americas, Europe, and Oceania. In line with the SkyTeam theme, 12 fresh faces from the flight and ground crew in uniform take travelers on an immersive journey, experiencing the soul of different cities. The cover design presents the traditional water-splashing ceremony for welcoming new planes, along with highlights of global attractions such as giraffes, Mexican Mayan culture, the Kremlin in Russia, and Romania’s Bran Castle... reflecting China Airlines’ status as a member of the SkyTeam Alliance and the launch of its upgraded cabins. It also conveys the meaning of renewal and fresh beginnings for the new year.

In recent years, the design themes have centered around significant milestones for China Airlines. In 2010, it introduced Taiwan’s beauty through the airline’s in-flight cultural feasts; in 2011, it focused on the airline’s new campus. This year, as China Airlines joins the SkyTeam Alliance, its network has expanded to 926 cities in 173 countries worldwide. The creative concept of the 2012 wall and desk calendars emphasizes the idea of a “bridge,” symbolizing how China Airlines acts as a connection between cities and brings the world even closer together.
