The inn was once a police sanatorium during the Japanese colonial period, and after several changes in ownership, it has been run by the Lü family to this day. It still retains the appearance of Japanese architecture from over sixty years ago, with little major alteration, exuding a strong East Asian ambiance. The most classic feature is the hot spring bathtub in the bathhouse, inlaid with round tiles, radiating a retro vibe. Walking along the wooden corridors of the Japanese-style rooms feels like stepping through a time tunnel back to old Taiwan before Retrocession.
