Taiwan currently has over 300 camping sites, and the Huazhong Leisure Camping Park in Taipei is the first urban camping ground in Taiwan to meet international standards. It features complete water and electricity infrastructure, a drainage system, and offers 24-hour hot and cold shower facilities, as well as rentals for various camping and barbecue equipment. Zhang Zhipeng, an advisor at the Republic of China Camping Association, said: “Tokyo, with a population of around 30 million, has only one camping site at Kaigan Park in Koto Ward, while Taipei, with about 6 million people, has a spacious green camping area—that’s really something to be grateful for!” For Taipei residents, Huazhong Leisure Camping Park is a convenient place to enjoy the fun of camping, while for visitors from elsewhere, its connection to Taipei’s extensive public transport system makes it very accessible and economical.
