Besides must-visit attractions in Dongyin such as the Dongyin Distillery, Dongyong Lighthouse, and the Nation’s Northern Frontier, the nearby Dongyin Brigade History Museum by the Anton Tunnel is also set to open to the public. The museum houses wartime artifacts, documents, and numerous precious photos since the establishment of the Anti-Communist National Salvation Army, including equipment used during the war. The public will have the opportunity to glimpse the mysterious face of the Anti-Communist National Salvation Army.

Located in Dongyin Township, the Dongyin Brigade History Museum was established in 1963 and relocated to its current site in 1980. It is divided into three halls. The main hall displays a portrait of Dr. Sun Yat-sen, a statue of General Chiang Kai-shek, and the office furniture and leisure items once used in Chiang’s quarters. The decoration of the Republic of China flag on the ceiling gives visitors a strong sense of military history and battlefield ambiance upon entering.
The Fujian and Jiangsu-Zhejiang Anti-Communist National Salvation Army, which participated in operations such as the Songmen Assault, Nandao Island Assault, and the Battle of Yijiangshan Island, merged in 1960 to become the “Army Anti-Communist National Salvation Army,” with its headquarters established in Dongyin—today’s predecessor of the Army Dongyin Area Command. The left hall of the brigade history museum focuses on the origins, development, and organizational changes of the Anti-Communist National Salvation Army. It displays equipment used during assault operations, as well as various wartime artifacts signed personally by officers, soldiers, and residents. Portraits of former commanders are also exhibited here.

The Dongyin Brigade History Museum is currently still within a military-controlled area and has not yet officially opened to the public. It is currently only open to domestic visitors by appointment.
