The yellow bell trees bloom gradually from the end of February to early March, with their peak blooming period around mid-March. Nearly 300 meters of continuous blooming yellow bell trees reflect their bright yellow hues on the water canal, transforming the canal into a beautiful golden river. Coupled with the romantic charm of the rural path, it has quickly become a popular photo spot.
Xingquan Canal was jointly built with local residents in the 15th year of the Guangxu reign of the Qing Dynasty (1889 AD) for land reclamation and domestic water use. It was then called 'Baizhuang Canal' and is also a pioneer in water conservancy construction in the East Rift Valley area. It has been in use for over a hundred years.
The yellow bell tree area of Xingquan Canal is located to the left after turning at the southbound intersection on Provincial Highway 9. It is also recommended to visit the nearby Danongdafu Plain Forest Park.
