Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea today announced their brand-new attractions for the 2012 summer season in Taiwan — “Goofy’s Paint & Play House” and “Toy Story Mania Madness.” In the former, visitors can help Goofy paint in a world of vibrant virtual colors, while the latter is themed around the animated film “Toy Story,” taking guests into the 3D world of cartoon stars like Woody and Jessie. This year, Disney has also planned its first-ever advertising campaign on Taipei Metro train cars. From May 15 for one month, passengers riding the Banqiao Line may have the chance to ride the world’s only Disney-painted metro car.

This year’s Taiwan Special Passport for travelers from Taiwan went on sale immediately and will be available year-round, with ticket sales continuing until February 29, 2013. It can be used from April 1 to March 1, 2013. The full-price passport costs 6,200 Japanese yen (approximately NT$2,262), with the same benefits as before. Passengers holding the “Taiwan Special Passport” can enter the park directly regardless of peak hours, choose which area to visit on the day, and receive shopping discounts at Ikspiari. Tickets are available through Southeast Travel, Create Travel, EasyTravel, Daxing Travel, Wufu Travel, and Cola Travel.

July and August are peak travel seasons for Taiwanese visitors to Tokyo Disneyland. The brand-new attraction at DisneySea, “Toy Story Mania Madness,” has an investment of up to 11.5 billion yen (approximately NT$4.194 billion), making it a highlight of this year’s Disney offerings. Additionally, during the summer vacation, Disneyland will launch special Japan Tanabata events and the “Disney Japanese Summer Festival”; DisneySea will feature “Summer Oasis Water Splash” and “Disney Junior Summer Adventure,” among others.
