The senior staff dormitories of the Jinguashi Mining Company will open for a work-exchange experience. The Gold Ecological Park is using two renovated Japanese-style dormitories to host a "Japanese Dormitory Experience: Seeking Lifestyles & Creative Minds" program where accommodation and meals are exchanged for work. Applications are now open until June 28 for creative individuals aged 18 and above with interdisciplinary talents.

Gold Ecological Park Director Tsai Tsung-hsiung stated that this is the first year of the work-exchange experience program, inviting various types of creative individuals to stay in the newly renovated two Japanese-style dormitories. The museum provides basic food and lodging, but participants are expected to demonstrate diverse creative thinking during their stay and become cultural seeds for the ShueinandJiou area, helping shape a new model of revitalizing the former mining site as a "quasi-museum."

The two Japanese-style dormitories offered for the work-exchange experience were once accommodations for senior mining company staff during the area’s prosperous mining era. Artists interested in applying must submit a "Selection Application Form" and an "On-site Residency Plan," including creative concepts, past creative experiences, and the proposed residency plan. The work-exchange stay runs from August 1 to October 28, 2012. Applicants may apply from now until June 28.
