The American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) and the Discover America campaign jointly host “My US Dream Vacation.” This season’s “Shopping Theme” specially introduces three major shopping centers in the US, including Premium Outlets, Fashion Outlets, and Macy’s, and also launches an online photography contest. The submission period runs from now until September 15. Participants have the chance to win two round-trip air tickets from Taipei to the US and one Grand West 9-Day Tour in the US.

Fashion Outlets allow visitors to experience buying top designer brand items at outlet prices. Fashion Outlets - Las Vegas, located on I-15 between Los Angeles and Las Vegas, features over 100 designer brands; Fashion Outlets - Niagara USA is just minutes from Niagara Falls and offers more than 150 designer brands; Fashion Outlets – Chicago, set to open next August, will be located in Rosemont near O'Hare International Airport.

Premium Outlets luxury discount shopping centers have 71 locations worldwide, 58 of which are in the US, mostly in major metropolitan areas and popular tourist destinations such as New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Boston. All Premium Outlets feature world-renowned brands, offering discounts ranging from 35% to 75% off. Macy’s is the largest and most well-known department store chain in the US, with over 800 stores nationwide. Macy’s specially offers international travelers a discount card that provides exclusive 10% off on thousands of items for 30 days.
The second year promotion of “My US Dream Vacation” features four major themes: “Shopping Spree,” “Theme Parks,” “Sports Competitions,” and “National Parks.” A photography contest is held each season. Participants simply need to upload photos (under 3MB) taken by themselves or friends and family in the US that match the seasonal theme, along with a caption of less than 140 words, to the “My US Dream Vacation” website. The grand prize winner of the photo contest and those who vote on the entries both have the chance to win a round-trip air ticket from Taipei to the US sponsored by airlines.
