On September 29 at 19:30, Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts will hold the popular Lobby Concert Series — Baroque Under the Moonlight — in the first-floor Sculpture Hall. In addition to the rare opportunity to hear the harpsichord, a hallmark instrument of the Baroque period, performing with other instruments in a splendid concert, the event will also feature Russian artist Leonid Tishkov, who exhibited his work “There Is the Moon from Afar” at the museum in 2009. He will present his piece “My Moon,” allowing the public to celebrate Mid-Autumn amid melodious music and moon-inspired artworks.

Accompanying Tishkov’s “My Moon,” the “Baroque Under the Moonlight” lobby concert, held in celebration of Mid-Autumn Festival, will feature renowned musicians Lee Mei-wen, Li Rong-ying, Chen Yu-wen, and Kao Ping-kun. They will perform classic pieces by French Baroque composers François Couperin and Jean-Philippe Rameau, British composers George Frideric Handel and Henry Purcell, as well as German composer Johann Sebastian Bach. The performance offers the public a chance to experience ancient Baroque music, understand different solo instrumental forms and performance styles, and immerse themselves in the glow of Tishkov’s moon.
This event features evening opening hours. The public can first join the special activity “I Want to Say to the Moon...” at 18:30 on September 29 in the first-floor North Hall. Participants will receive a small gift and have the opportunity to get an autograph from “My Moon” artist Leonid Tishkov. The “Baroque Under the Moonlight” lobby concert will begin at 19:30 in the first-floor Sculpture Hall.
