The 2012 Taipei International Travel Expo kicks off today, with exhibitors rolling out attractive deals and special performances to draw crowds. During the exhibition, Taiwan High Speed Rail (THSR) will launch exclusive limited-edition lucky bags containing 3 to 5 THSR commemorative items, with a total value ranging from NT$1,070 to NT$1,350. Each bag is priced at NT$800, offering discounts of up to 41% off, and includes one free or half-price standard-class reserved-seat ticket voucher. A daily limit of 300 bags is available, starting on the first day...Lucky Bag ExchangeNumber cards will be distributed at noon. Additionally, the event features a massive railway model exceeding 6 pyeong (approximately 20 square meters), centered around Hsinchu Station, intricately recreating the operation of high-speed trains and real station scenes — a must-see for rail enthusiasts.

To purchase the THSR travel expo limited-edition lucky bags, visitors must first collect a number card at the THSR booth.They can then exchange the card for a lucky bag during the designated time slot. On the 26th, number cards will be distributed starting at noon, with exchanges taking place from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM that afternoon. From the 27th to the 29th, number cards will be given out starting at 10:00 AM, with exchanges available from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on those days.

In addition, THSR has created an oversized railway model over 6 pyeong in size (8 meters long and 2.5 meters wide), with Hsinchu Station as its centerpiece. The model meticulously presents railway stations and train operations, complemented by rich scenery from central Taiwan and dynamic day-night transitions, immersing visitors in a miniature railway fantasy. Visitors can also receive a “THSR 700T Train-Shaped Cheering Stick” after viewing the model.
During the travel expo, THSR also invites well-known performance groups, including the Hakka band Huang Lianyao, the electronic Three Kings Troupe, and the Golden Eagle Pavilion Puppet Theater, showcasing distinctive performances from northern, central, and southern Taiwan, allowing visitors to experience the diversity of Taiwanese culture. The event also includes a quiz with prizes — those who answer correctly will receive a “foldable handheld fan” and may also win a free THSR ride voucher.
