The 2012 New Taipei City Hot Spring & Gourmet Festival will officially begin on November 3. The city government has partnered with businesses to create a "Happy Travel Sightseeing Passport" with total discounts exceeding NT$10,000. Spending over NT$200 also allows you to collect stamps for a chance to win cash prizes of NT$50,000, two-day-one-night accommodation vouchers, and hot spring coupons. Additionally, a limited-edition NT$100 "Happy Warm Pack" lucky bag is being launched, containing NT$500 in discount vouchers, an NT$500-value warm scarf, and the sightseeing passport. The warm packs are scheduled to go on sale at 12:00 PM tomorrow (November 2).

The New Taipei City Government Tourism Bureau stated that the city is rich in tourism resources, with hot springs scattered across various districts. In addition to the well-known Jinshan-Wanli and Wulai hot springs, businesses in Bali, Tamsui, Sanxia, and Xindian have also developed hot spring services. Jinshan-Wanli offers not only sulfur and carbonated springs but also Taiwan’s only submarine spring. Wulai features pristine carbonated springs stored underground for centuries, while other hot spring areas each have their unique charms—such as the Neidong Forest Recreation Area, which has the highest negative ion concentration in Taiwan, the Sanxia Dapan Tree area with the richest phytoncide levels, and the Bali Datang Story, which combines diverse hot spring-themed leisure facilities. All are must-visits for a hot spring trip.

During the event period, the Tourism Bureau has specially invited businesses to collaborate, launching special offers such as the "Hot Spring + Gourmet" NT$1,199 couples' happy meal and NT$1,688 small-family joy meal packages. Partnering with nearby hot spring, dining, and souvenir shops, they’ve issued a "Happy Travel Sightseeing Passport" with total discounts exceeding NT$10,000. Starting November 3, it can be picked up at New Taipei City Tourism Service Centers or downloaded from the event website. The limited-edition NT$100 "Happy Warm Pack" package will go on sale simultaneously tomorrow on the event’s official website (HOTTravel.com.tw), via the hotline (02-8712-2090), and at Taipei Underground Mall Plaza 12 (Exit Y4). Moreover, the event features a special cash-drawing promotion: spend over NT$200 at participating merchants with the passport or a downloaded raffle ticket from the event webpage, and you’ll receive one stamp per qualifying purchase. Collect three stamps to enter the draw for NT$50,000 in cash, accommodation vouchers, and hot spring coupons.
