The 101st Taimali Township Golden Hot Spring Festival will be held from November 17 to December 9 at the Golden Hot Spring area. The opening ceremony will take place at 7:00 PM on November 17 in front of the Golden Train Station, featuring elder blessings, local band performances, and indigenous dance shows. Over the 23-day event, four Saturday music performances by Mo Yan will be scheduled. The festival will also integrate hot spring resources with the unique Paiwan indigenous culture and scenic estuary landscapes of the village. Activities include hot spring soaking experiences, live glass bead DIY workshops, traditional indigenous food tastings, as well as indigenous welcome dance performances, stone painting cultural experiences, guided hikes along ancient mountain trails, and ecological experiences every Saturday and Sunday. Package tours are also available to allow visitors to deeply engage with the local culture and heritage.

During the event period, a lucky draw will also be held. Purchasing a voucher locally comes with one free lottery ticket. A total of 108 prizes are up for grabs, with the total prize value reaching NT$150,000, including a grand prize electric scooter. The draw will take place during the closing ceremony on December 9 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Vouchers can be used at accommodations, restaurants, hot springs, handicraft shops, local produce stores, and general merchandise outlets within Taimali Township.
Taimali Township Mayor Cheng Cheng-chun stated that the Golden Stream basin is rich in natural resources, including river crabs, Simaning, forest trails, the Dawu Mountain Ecological Education Center, and the Talang Xiangyang Heritage Carpentry Workshop. The planned package tours include three-he fishing net catches, visits to the indigenous birthplace, photo tours at Huayuan Beach, hands-on glass bead and snail-making workshops, as well as learning about indigenous culture at the Lalaolan Millet Workshop. These offerings allow visitors to deeply experience the local charm beyond just hot spring soaking. Additionally, this year’s Taimali Hot Spring Festival is combined with the Golden Summit Township’s “Luo Yi Bu Jue – Roselle Flower Festival,” offering visitors a holistic experience of both hot spring relaxation and tribal culture.
