To promote leisure agriculture in Dongshan, Yilan, the Dongshan Township Farmers’ Association has integrated four key local specialty agricultural products—jasmine tea, Liangshi rice, Tianshi mushrooms, and pomelos—to establish the “Mushroom Tea Rice House.” Focusing on locally sourced organic and pesticide-free ingredients, the venue features four themed areas and offers mushroom hotpot cuisine and mushroom-picking experiences. It also plans 40 food-themed tours, including six especially recommended certified organic farm demonstration routes. Visitors can enjoy bright red roselle flowers, admire the Eight Scenic Spots of Guishan Island, ride a duck boat, stroll along walking paths, and gain an in-depth understanding of various organic farming methods in Dongshan Township.ItinerariesThe cost starts from NT$550 per person.

The Mushroom Tea Rice House features four themed areas: the Gourmet Experience Hall, the Farm Plaza, the Tea Tasting Nook, and the Souvenir Pavilion. The Gourmet Experience Hall offers a mushroom hotpot that brings together top-quality ingredients from Yilan, most notably the Tianshi mushrooms, known as the “steak of vegetables” for their low purine and zero cholesterol content, along with vegetables supplied by nearby organic farms. The Farm Plaza allows visitors to enjoy the fun of hand-picking mushrooms in winter. The Tea Tasting Nook lets guests sample fine teas and learn about local tea culture. The Souvenir Pavilion offers a variety of exclusive products for purchase, including organic black fungus drink.

Dongshan Township in Yilan is located where five tributaries of the Dongshan River converge. The township boasts six major leisure agriculture areas: Zhongshan, Dongshan River, Luodong Creek, Dajin, Plum Blossom Lake, and Pearl. It is also home to over 300 farm stays, rural restaurants, souvenir shops, experience farms, leisure farms, and local cultural museums. To promote leisure agriculture, the Dongshan Township Farmers’ Association has integrated four local specialty agricultural products to establish the Mushroom Tea Rice House. Normally open to the public free of charge, it serves as a space for locals to relax, enjoy tea, and host events, as well as for tourists to taste local ingredients and learn about the area’s organic farming practices.
