The world-famous Taiwan International Orchid Show, which has been listed as one of the world’s top three orchid exhibitions, will take place from March 9 to March 18, 2013, at the Taiwan Orchid Plantation in Houpi District, Tainan City. This year’s event also features orchid-themed entrance designs at various tourist spots, including the high-speed rail station, hotels and inns within Tainan City, and local communities, showcasing the beauty of orchids. During the exhibition period, to facilitate public visits, the Tainan City Government has arranged two free shuttle bus routes decorated with orchid motifs for visitors. Those who show their public transport tickets can also enjoy discounted admission.

There are two free shuttle bus routes in total. Route one runs from Chiayi High-Speed Rail Station to the Orchid Show venue, with buses departing every 45 minutes from 08:30 to 18:45, offering a total of 26 trips. Route two operates from Tainan Railway Station (Xinying) to the Orchid Show venue, with buses running every 20 minutes on weekdays from 08:20 to 18:40, providing 55 trips. On holidays, additional services are added, reducing the interval to every 10 minutes from 08:20 to 18:30, with a total of 108 trips.

Additionally, visitors who wish to explore both the Orchid Show and Tainan’s local cuisine and attractions should not miss the “March Orchid Show Month” special promotion. From March 1 to March 31, visitors can present their Orchid Show tickets at 50 participating local tourism businesses—including hotels and homestays, tourist factories, amusement parks, leisure farms, food and souvenir shops, and local cultural museums—to enjoy immediate discounts on purchases.
