The 2013 Qingming Festival has a four-day consecutive holiday. Passengers planning to take the high-speed rail to return home can start purchasing tickets now via the 24-hour high-speed rail partner convenience store online ticketing system, the “Taiwan High Speed Rail T Express” mobile quick booking, voice reservation system, and other services to pre-purchase round-trip tickets for the period between April 3 and April 8. The high-speed rail will continue to offer non-reserved seating services during the transport peak period, with the number of non-reserved cars increased to four on all trains on April 3 and April 7.

During the transport peak period from April 3 to April 8, Taiwan High Speed Rail will add 67 southbound and 62 northbound services, totaling 129 additional train trips, while suspending 6 commuter-time services. In total, 915 services will be offered over the six days, providing 904,935 seats. Of these, 782 services will be eligible for the “Early Bird Discount,” accounting for 85% of the total number of services during the six-day period. Passengers may enjoy Early Bird discounts of 35%, 20%, or 10% if they book their tickets 8 to 28 days before departure.
During the peak travel period, the high-speed rail will continue to provide non-reserved seating services. On April 3 and April 7, the number of non-reserved cars on all trains will be increased to four. Passengers holding periodical tickets, rechargeable tickets, or EasyCard co-branded cards can enter the station and board the train directly by tapping their cards. During this period, limited upgrades to business class, discounts for university students on specified services, the Graduation Trip program, and group ticket discounts for 30 or more people on regular specified services will be temporarily suspended.
