Hokkaido offers unique charm in every season—cherry blossoms in spring, flowers in summer, autumn foliage in fall, and snow activities in winter, making it a highly favored travel destination among Taiwanese. Starting now, with the launch of EVA Air’s new Taipei–Asahikawa route, traveling to Hokkaido will become even more convenient. EVA Air noted that, benefiting from Japan’s open skies policy, in addition to its long-operating Taipei–Sapporo route, since last year’s inaugural flight, the airline has further expanded its services. Following the new route launch, it now operates a total of 14 weekly flights to three destinations in Hokkaido, with two flights per day, making it the carrier with the highest number of flights and seats to Hokkaido from Taiwan.

In addition, EVA Air and UNI Air will launch a new Kaohsiung–Jinan route starting today, a chartered Kaohsiung–Zhangjiajie route on June 3, and a Kaohsiung–Seoul route on June 10, with bookings now open. EVA Air stated that South Korea is one of the most popular travel destinations for Taiwanese, with the number of visitors increasing year by year. In 2012, the number of travelers to South Korea grew by over 20% compared to 2011. To celebrate the launch of the Kaohsiung–Seoul route, special promotional packages are being offered. For departures before June 21, EVA Holidays’ 3-day, 2-night free independent travel package starts from NT$11,499 (excluding tax), and comes with gifts such as a Seoul Metro card and a premium tableware set. For group tours, EVA Air has partnered with travel agencies including Wu Fu, Cola Tours, Mountain Wealth, Southeast, Jingcheng, Lion Travel, and Jie Li to offer a variety of 5-day and 6-day tour packages, with the lowest price starting at just NT$13,988.
For domestic travel, to provide passengers with smarter and more convenient mobile services, UNI Air has launched a new app service starting today. Passengers can use Apple smartphones and tablets to book and purchase tickets for all domestic routes, as well as stay updated on the latest flight information, putting their itinerary management literally at their fingertips.
The UNI Air app uses Traditional Chinese as its operating language. Passengers can simply search for “UNI Air” in the Apple App Store to download the app for free, quickly accessing various promotional offers. Initially, the app is available for all models of Apple smartphones and tablets (including iPhone, iPad, and iPad mini), with built-in software requiring iOS 5.0 or higher.
