The Zhongli New Year's Eve Gala Is No More This Year—Zhongli City Government Decides to Cancel the Longstanding Event, Replacing It with a Christmas Gala on December 21st Featuring Artists Such as Jia Jia Xiao, Jolin Tsai, and Julian Cheung, Also Bringing an End to the Competition for Crowd Attendance with the Taoyuan County Government’s Simultaneously Held New Year's Eve Gala.

The Zhongli City New Year's Eve Gala has been held for over 10 years, while the Taoyuan County Government’s New Year's Eve Gala does not have as long a history. Last year, the Taoyuan County Government and Zhongli City Government each organized their own New Year's Eve galas. However, Zhongli City Government assembled a lineup of 14 performing artists, surpassing the county government in both funding and scale. This was seen as directly competing with the county government, not only putting the city government in an awkward position but also, over the long term, splitting the crowd between the two events. As a result, Zhongli City Government has decided to cancel the New Year's Eve Gala this year and replace it with a Christmas Gala.
This year’s Zhongli Christmas Gala is scheduled to take place from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM on December 21st, featuring live performances by artists such as Jia Jia Xiao, Jolin Tsai, and Julian Cheung. The exact venue will be announced by Zhongli City Government.
