The North Coast is uniquely blessed with four types of hot spring waters: submarine springs, iron springs, sulfur springs, and carbonated springs. Autumn and winter are the best times to soak in the steaming golden waters of the North Coast and enjoy a warm, holistic experience. The “2013 North Coast Hot Springs & Gourmet Festival” compiles introductions to the characteristics of hot spring areas, local culture, specialty products, and special offers from various vendors. Visitors can also take the Taiwan Tourist Shuttle—Crown North Coast Line to easily explore the North Coast. Beyond soaking in the springs, they can taste creative dishes made with local ingredients such as Wanli crabs and abalone, and enjoy specially curated value deals from each vendor.
The North Coast National Scenic Area Administration has also partnered with the “Crown North Coast Discount Ticket Package” for transportation. It is hoped that through the Hot Springs & Gourmet Festival, the public can experience an incredible value hot spring journey. Netizens can get off at Jiatouli (Hot Springs Area) Station and walk two minutes to one of the event vendors—Muse Hot Spring Resort Hotel—to enjoy a luxurious crab double meal at 52% off, plus a 2.5-hour rest in the Ubud Suite. Or head to Jinyongquan SPA Hot Spring Club, where you can savor delicious Wanli crab and abalone porridge in an open-air bath, and experience a meal worth NT$1,460 at a price just under NT$1,000. Alternatively, walk 15 minutes to the Old San Francisco Governor’s Hot Spring to participate in a stamp-card discount voucher event. You can also get off at Jinshan Old Street Station and visit Tangyu Twin Springs Hot Spring Club to enjoy a 10% discount on the Chat Restaurant’s double creative course + a soak in the public pool. In addition, the Taiwan Tourist Shuttle has launched a winter-exclusive “Active Hot Springs Journey” package for NT$389, which includes one Taiwan Tourist Shuttle Crown North Coast Line ticket and one public hot spring voucher (choose one of four options) worth up to NT$580. This package is on sale from now until December 31. Netizens looking to enjoy the high-quality springs of Jinshan and Wanli while also exploring natural ecology shouldn’t miss out.
