New Taipei Christmas Town enters its third year, and this year, both the light zone design and event planning have been infused with plenty of childlike fun, including exciting performances during "Childlike Christmas, Joyful Theater" on Nov. 23 and 24, "A Child’s Stroll" taking kids to explore the light zone on Nov. 30, the colorful and lively Christmas Circus Parade on Dec. 14, and "Rascals’ Winter Funland" running from Dec. 14 to Jan. 1, 2014. These events transform the area around the City Hall into a giant children's playground, inviting both adults and children to share in the festive cheer.

Starting from the lighting ceremony on Nov. 22 at New Taipei City Christmas Town, the carousel and coffee cups at Civic Square will begin entertaining children. Then, from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Nov. 23 and 24, "Childlike Christmas, Joyful Theater" will feature all 14 YOYO Family performers alongside cartoon characters, the If Kids Drama Troupe, and stars from "Moe Academy," delivering delightful Christmas shows for audiences of all ages.
On Nov. 30, "A Child’s Stroll" invites children and parents to follow a path through the beautiful light zone. Registration is now open on the official website of the 2013 New Taipei Christmas Town event, with 500 slots available on a first-come, first-served basis. On Dec. 14, there will be an exciting Circus Parade, led by the New Taipei City Mounted Police and a marching band. The parade will feature the New Elephant Creation Troupe showcasing amazing acrobatics, the YOYO Family leading SpongeBob, Patrick Star, and Squidward—three beloved stars—and other cartoon characters, the adorable mascots of E-Da World traveling all the way from Kaohsiung, as well as the Postal Service Motorcycle Squad dressed as green-clad angels, all creating a lively and festive atmosphere.
Additionally, this large-scale amusement park that is Christmas Town naturally includes plenty of rides. In addition to the carousel and coffee cups that will accompany children throughout the event period from Nov. 22 to Jan. 5 of the following year, Civic Square will also introduce the "Toot-Toot Forest Train" and cute spinning mini airplanes on Nov. 22, 23, and 24. From Dec. 14 to Jan. 1, "Rascals’ Winter Funland" at Wanping Park and Station Front Square will feature inflatable castles, track trains, and other fun rides. The highly anticipated 2013 limited-edition Christmas bears will also be given out starting from the lighting ceremony on Nov. 22. The "Love & X'mas Tree" will give away 30 pairs of 4T Christmas bears daily from Nov. 22 to Dec. 25. The "Popular Christmas Card—Check-in and Get a Limited Edition Bear" campaign will distribute 120 4T bears daily from Nov. 25 to Jan. 5 of the following year, Monday through Friday, until supplies last.
