The Yellow Duck that created a stir in Kaohsiung and Taoyuan is set to "swim" to Keelung on December 21, with its exhibition period extended to February 8, 2014—totaling 50 days—and will celebrate Christmas, New Year’s Eve, and the Lunar New Year holidays with duck fans in Keelung!

Fan Kexin, the overall event planner, stated that the Keelung Yellow Duck features five major exhibition zones. The 18-meter-tall Yellow Duck located right in the center of the Ocean Plaza has one more innovative feature than those in other cities worldwide—a specially custom-made floating platform that can rotate 360 degrees, making the Keelung Yellow Duck uniquely stand out like a spinning music box. From any angle, visitors have the chance to come face-to-face with the Yellow Duck and experience its captivating charm. There’s also a “Duck Fan Energy Gathering” activity where the most popular area determines the rotation angle of the duck.
In addition, to ensure duck fans can explore Keelung with ease, a “Yellow Duck Tourism Passport” has been specially issued. This passport integrates information on the Yellow Duck exhibition zones, transportation details, and a comprehensive guide to eating, drinking, playing, and having fun in Keelung. It also includes discount vouchers from over 140 local Keelung businesses. For just NT$50, you can get a tourism passport worth over NT$5,000. The first 100,000 passports also come with a Yellow Duck commemorative bracelet, co-produced by Richi Riste Information, and 100 Yellow Duck points, which can be redeemed online for various limited-edition Yellow Duck merchandise and 7net discount vouchers, among other perks.
During the exhibition period, expect large crowds of people and vehicles. Due to limited parking in the city center, duck fans are advised to use public transportation such as trains and buses to avoid the hassle of traffic jams and difficulty finding parking.
