Entering its 6th year, the Northeast Coast First Light event will take place at Fulong Beach. This year’s 2014 Northeast Coast “Greet the First Light, Win at the Start” First Light Party has not only added seven more singers to the lineup, but the main stage performances will also start earlier at 2:30 AM on New Year’s Day—truly the strongest lineup yet. The event will feature renowned models and entertainers Yu Ping-yen from Eelin Entertainment, Taiwan’s top star-making factory, and Chen Chieh-lun, the first champion of the Shining Star Awards, as hosts. The night will kick off with a warm-up set by DJ Ray Ray, the chief resident DJ of the famous LUXY nightclub. Other stellar performers include Taiwan’s most explosive heavy rock band O.V.D.S., the beloved diva Lin Hsin-yi from the Stephen Chow camp, Tao Zhe, Show Lo, the dynamic trio Lollipop F, the Malaysian ballad king Alien Huang, and the legendary Taiwanese punk rock band TOLAKU, who made a triumphant comeback after stepping back at the peak of their fame—with recent concert tickets selling out in seconds. The most high-energy beats and most spectacular performances are guaranteed to rock the house.

Not only that, the “First Light Party” also incorporates trendy cultural and creative elements, gathering an impressive lineup of 16 food trucks to serve a variety of Chinese and Western breakfasts. On the first day of the new year, participants are in for an energizing and vibrant start. Online registration for the event will officially open at 9:00 AM on December 13, with a limited quota of 1000 spots. Successful registrants will receive a free “First Financial Group First Light Gift,” which includes round-trip train tickets from Taipei to Fulong on January 1, 2014, a mysterious First Light gift, and a rock breakfast voucher. Train tickets can be collected from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM on December 26 and 27 by presenting a valid ID and the online registration confirmation number at the First Financial Group Building (1F, 30 Chongqing S. Rd., Taipei). Other gifts can be claimed at the event venue on the day. Additionally, starting now, you can visit the event’s official website to play the First Light mini-game. The top 200 players by December 18 will receive a special souvenir on the event day.
To support the event and ensure faster, more convenient, and safer transportation, Taiwan Railways will operate five special First Light trains from 1:45 AM to 3:30 AM on January 1, 2014, departing from Banqiao and stopping only at Taipei, Songshan, Nangang, and Fulong. To allow participants to further explore the beauty of the Northeast Coast, the Northeast Coast National Scenic Area Administration also recommends several quality travel routes, including cycling tours of varying lengths that pass through the Old Caoling Tunnel, Yanliao Seaside Park, and even reach as far as Siaoliouciou Island; gourmet seafood tours at fishing harbors along the coast; spiritual journeys to the Lingjiou Mountain New Year prayer events; and in-depth geological tours.
