The Santa Claus and flying teddy bear from the New Taipei City Happy Christmas Town, which amazed everyone in 2013, are back. On the eve of the Lunar New Year, Santa Claus has put on a festive outfit to become the God of Wealth, and the flying teddy bear has transformed into an adorable flying panda. From 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM every evening, they continue to present the “Super Cute, Bear-Filled Fortune” Lunar New Year light show at every full hour, keeping the festive spirit alive from the Lunar New Year all the way to the Lantern Festival.

This Lunar New Year light show is headlined by the God of Wealth and the adorable little panda, featuring stunning full-color animated visuals created with LED tubes that can display 65,536 colors. The flying panda will ride a kite across the sky, and the God of Wealth will once again ascend the 35.5-meter-tall Fortune Tree to bring blessings. The animation incorporates many festive and auspicious elements for the holiday season, such as themes like “Fortune Falls from the Sky,” “Wealth Flows In,” and “Spring in Full Bloom.” The God of Wealth will descend from the heavens with a shower of gold coins and blessings. This year, the super cute panda’s playful moves are especially eye-catching—as it waves its brush and creates beautiful calligraphy, writing auspicious phrases and spreading good fortune. From January 28 to February 14 (the Lantern Festival), the 3-minute-55-second Lunar New Year light show will be performed promptly at every full hour from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Performances will be suspended from January 30 to February 1 (New Year’s Eve to the first two days of the Lunar New Year).
