Taiwan High-Speed Rail adds extra trains for Qingming holiday; ticket sales start at 12:01 AM on March 22

During the 2014 Qingming holiday travel period, Taiwan High-Speed Rail saw enthusiastic advance ticket purchases. To enhance services for passengers traveling home or going on trips,the company will add two more southbound and two more northbound trains during the travel period from April 3 to April 7,for a total of four additional train services, to alleviate congestion during peak hours. All four additional trainswill offer an early bird discount of 10%.Ticket sales for these trains will begin at midnight on the 22nd.

 

Among the four additional trains added for Qingming holiday travel, Train No. 1659 on April 3 (departing Taipei Station at 1:18 PM) and Train No. 1707 (departing Taipei Station at 2:48 PM) will stop at all stations along the route; on April 6, northbound Train No. 1646 (departing Zuoying Station at 11:48 AM) will stop at all stations,while Train No. 1176 (departing Zuoying Station at 12:12 PM) will stop at Zuoying, Taichung, Banqiao, and Taipei stations.

 

Passengers can purchase tickets for these four train services starting at midnight on the 22nd through 24-hour convenience stores partnered with the high-speed rail, online booking, the “T Express” mobile app, the voice reservation system, or at ticket windows and ticket machines at stations during business hours. Those who book tickets eight days before departure may also be eligible for the early bird 10% discount.
