The “2014 Stop Nuclear Power Plant No. 4 – Nuclear Fallout Survival Run” postponed; scheduled to start at 4/26 on Ketagalan Boulevard

The “2014 Stop Nuclear Power Plant No. 4 – Nuclear Fallout Survival Run” event was originally scheduled to start at 07:00 AM on March 29 on Ketagalan Boulevard. However, the event organizers announced today on their official website that “due to the ongoing Sunflower Student Movement, which continues to gain momentum, both the number of participants and the scope of road closures have gradually expanded. To avoid diluting the issue’s momentum, and taking into account the challenges of police deployment and traffic control, after consultations with relevant authorities regarding subsequent road usage applications and traffic management plans, the main and co-organizers of the [329 Nuclear Fallout Survival Run] have decided to postpone the event. It is now tentatively rescheduled for April 26, still to be held on Ketagalan Boulevard.”

Event organizers stated that since April 26 marks the 28th anniversary of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster, holding an expanded anti-nuclear event on that day holds greater significance and value. However, as road usage rights are still being coordinated with the city government, further confirmation will be promptly announced by the organizers once available.

 

Additionally, although the event has been postponed, all participants’ rights will be retained. On the event day of April 26, participants can join the full event and receive related souvenirs simply by presenting their race bibs. As for those who are unable to attend the April 26 run, they may email their name, phone number, registration number, and bank account details to the designated email address via the event’s official website to receive a full refund. Already distributed souvenirs will not be reclaimed by the organizers.
