The previously popular “1600 Pandas World Tour – Taipei” exhibition is set to draw to a close this Sunday. Fans of the pandas need not be too sad though — besides the healthy and happy Yuan Zai still keeping everyone company at the zoo, some Taipei MRT lines and buses also feature panda-themed designs, allowing commuters to enjoy the delightful presence of pandas during their daily journeys.

The second phase of the “1600 Pandas World Tour – Taipei” exhibition will be held from now until March 30 at the National Theater & Concert Hall Arts Plaza. In addition to the 1,600 paper pandas, there will also be 200 Formosan black bears that did not appear in the first phase. The exhibition is open daily from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM and entry is free.

Additionally, the MRT Wenhu Line’s painted train — the “Yuan Zai Train,” launched earlier this year, features illustrations of Yuan Zai and the zoo both inside and outside the train cars. The train also includes “3D transparent Yuan Zai sticker seats,” where passengers sitting down can have their friends capture fun photos from the right angle, showing them riding with Yuan Zai or even patting its head. This offers children and adults alike traveling to and from the zoo memorable and playful photo opportunities.

As for the three-door low-floor Yuan Zai-painted buses connecting Taipei City and New Taipei City, the entire vehicle is covered in large panda Yuan Zai illustrations. Inside, from the floor and ceiling to the interior paneling, all are adorned with Yuan Zai designs — even the handrails are painted to resemble the pandas’ favorite bamboo. There are a total of five different painted versions, including “Yuan Zai Riding a YouBike”, which have captured the hearts of many since they hit the streets last year.
Riding Capital Bus 307 not only surrounds you with the happiness of Yuan Zai, but also allows you to get off at Minsheng Station along the route starting from the Minsheng community and walk to Fùjǐn Street, or visit areas like Taipei Main Station shopping district, Ximending, and Banqiao World Trade Center, offering a unique experience of having Yuan Zai accompany you around the Greater Taipei area.
