Kaohsiung, having gradually recovered from the gas explosion and heavy rains, is regaining its former vibrant energy. The upcoming Mid-Autumn holiday, which starts this Saturday (9/6), is one of the three most important festivals in Taiwan, and the three-day break encourages people to head south for family reunions and festivities. The Kaohsiung City Tourism Bureau has specially launched four travel routes and two events, inviting everyone to come to Kaohsiung to admire the moon and celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival, while also giving the people of Kaohsiung a warm reunion embrace to cheer up the city.

Director-General Hsu Chuan-sheng of the Kaohsiung City Tourism Bureau said,The Mid-Autumn tour routes include four itineraries: the Taiwan Tourist Shuttle’s Dashu Blessing Line, the Qishan-Meinong Cycling and Gourmet Tour, the Kaohsiung Coast Seafood Tasting Tour, and the Waterfront Golden Triangle Cultural Yacht Tour, as well as two events: the Fantasy Moon World in Tianliao and the Love River Night Tour.These options offer a complete experience of Kaohsiung’s diverse landscapes—mountains, sea, rivers, harbors, and urban charm.

Cycling tourism has been gaining popularity in recent years. Hsu Chuan-sheng noted that Kaohsiung was once featured by international media as one of Asia’s top five cities ideal for cycling, and he particularly recommendsthe “Qishan-Meinong Cycling and Gourmet Tour.”Cycle through the Qimei old streets to enjoy traditional delicacies for a truly satisfying experience. For foodies, the Oyster Pier Fishing Market and Xingda Harbor Fishermen’s Market are top choices, offering seasonal catches like Pacific saury and squid. The late afternoon is perfect for the“Kaohsiung Coast Sunset and Seafood Tasting”experience.The “Waterfront Golden Triangle Cultural Yacht Tour”lets you enjoy moon-gazing by boat while sailing past Hongmaogang, the British Consulate, and the Pier-2 Art Center. Hsu Chuan-sheng specifically pointed out thatthe Tourism Bureau will host a fantasy cosplay costume competition and a ghost parade carnival at the Tianliao Moon World Geopark on 9/6 and 9/7, while 9/8, 9/13, 9/20, 9/27, 10/4, and 10/5 will feature spectacular events such as light projection shows, glow parties, and art festivals. Everyone is welcome to explore the “Fantasy Moon World” at night. In addition, the annual nighttime performance “LOVE Kaohsiung ING” takes place every weekend by the Love River, and there will be a “Forever in Love River Concert” by the Riverside Road on 9/8 evening. Kaohsiung gets more beautiful at night, joining everyone in a lively Mid-Autumn celebration.、Exciting events such as fluorescent parties and art carnivals await visitors to explore the "Magical Moon World" at night. Additionally, the annual nighttime sightseeing performance "LOVE Kaohsiung ING" takes place every Saturday and Sunday by the Love River. On the evening of September 8th, there will also be a "Forever in Love River Concert" on Yanhe Road. Kaohsiung gets more beautiful as the night falls, celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival with lively festivities for everyone.
