Thunderstorm disrupts Taoyuan Airport operations: China Airlines flights after 6 PM moved to Terminal 1

Affected by heavy rain, over 200 flights at Taoyuan Airport have been canceled or delayed. The underground passageways connecting to the outside of Taoyuan Airport are also impassable due to flooding. Due to the storm’s impact on the airport, nearly 20 China Airlines flights have been delayed, and will await takeoff or landing in coordination with airport operations.

China Airlines stated that due to a power outage in Terminal 2 of Taoyuan Airport causing computer system failures,for flights departing from Terminal 2 after 6 PM today, passengers are requested to check in at counters in Terminal 1 instead. Tonight’s flights including CI503 to Shanghai, CI158 to Osaka, CI006/CI008 to Los Angeles, CI032 to Vancouver, CI004 to San Francisco, and CI053 to Brisbane/Auckland,have been adjusted to check-in at Terminal 1 due to disruptions at Taoyuan Airport caused by today’s thunderstorm. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Passengers affected by the thunderstorm and experiencing flight delays may contact their original booking travel agency or China Airlines’ customer service center for assistance in rebooking other flights.Passengers rebooking for the same route with a departure date on or before July 1, 2016, will be exempt from rebooking fees; those requesting refunds for originally scheduled flights today before July 1, 2016, will also be exempt from refund fees.Other relevant fare regulations remain unchanged, and any fare differences resulting from rebooking will still apply.
