Enjoy panoramic views of the Buddha Memorial Center   Kaohsiung’s County Road 29 Scenic Bridge Opens Today

Chen Chu pointed out that during Lunar New Year and holiday periods, the influx of visitors to the Buddha Memorial Center often leads to severe congestion on County Road 29, with traffic frequently backing up all the way to the Lingkou Interchange of National Freeway 10. The construction of the skybridge aims to resolve the issues of congested crossings and frequent accidents involving cyclists and tourists on County Road 29. The bridge is approximately 200 meters long and 4 meters wide, with a total budget of around 100 million NTD.

The Kaohsiung City Public Works Bureau explained that the main structure of the bridge features a curved steel beam design paired with laser-cut railings styled like lotus flowers, creating a distinctive local landmark. The surrounding landscape integrates an existing earthen mound near the low-water revetment parking lot on the east side of County Road 29, transforming it into the Mirror Terrace scenic viewing platform and a circular walkway. The area is planted with Brazilian carpet grass and golden shower trees, offering visitors a high, green vantage point to admire views of the Buddha Memorial Center and the diagonal cable-stayed bridge over the Gaoping River.
