With the arrival of firefly season, the Aowanda National Forest Recreation Area’s Nature Education Center will host four two-day, one-night “Mabao Mini Trips – Firefly Starry Night” overnight-themed events in May, guiding travelers to admire the dots of green light that seem to fall from the stars into the forest, and relive childhood memories together.

Aowanda National Forest Recreation Area boasts abundant and clean water resources, diverse and intact forest vegetation, and an average annual temperature of about 19°C, making it highly suitable for the growth and reproduction of fireflies. Between April and May each year, the dark forest glows with tiny lights, mainly from species such as black-winged fireflies, red-chested black-winged fireflies, giant glowworms, and large black fireflies... Among them, black-winged fireflies are the most numerous. Those wishing to see the fireflies should plan their visit accordingly.

The Aowanda Nature Education Center will hold four two-day, one-night in-depth eco-tourism firefly-watching trips on May 7–8, 9–10, 14–15, and 16–17. During the day, enjoy the beauty of the mountains and forests in nature’s embrace, and at night, let the shining stars — “fireflies” — take over, allowing every visitor to immerse themselves in this magical nocturnal world.
