Spring has arrived, and while days of heavy rain have sent cherry blossoms scattering, there’s no need to feel down. Taking over from the cherry blossoms, various spots across New Taipei City are now blooming with azaleas, wisteria, and floss silk trees, showcasing the city’s full charm. The cherry blossom season is nearing its end, with only a few late-blooming “Yoshino cherry” trees still in flower, such as those along the SanSheng Trail in Sanchi District and the Left Bank of the River of Hope in Tucheng District. Azaleas burst forth in vivid hues starting mid-March across New Taipei City. Many cherry blossom viewing spots also have azaleas planted beneath the trees, adding a splash of spring color—for instance, both cherry blossoms and azaleas can be enjoyed along the SanSheng Trail in Sanchi District and the River of Hope in Tucheng District. Additionally, the densely flowered azaleas at sites like the Erchong Floodway, Datong Mountain in Shulin District, Tamkang University campus, Chashan Trail in Shimen District, the entrance to Fagu Mountain in Jinshan District, and Ren’ai Park in Luzhou District are especially eye-catching.
