The four-day Qingming Children’s Holiday is just around the corner. Want to go out for a spring outing without traffic jams or crowds? A vast heart-shaped flower sea at Guting Riverside Park is currently in full bloom, lasting until mid-April. Bring your family along to enjoy this floral spectacle.

Follow the bike path toward Guting Riverside Park, and a huge carpet of flowers unfolds before your eyes, appearing even more vibrant under the sunlight. Themed “Melody of Happiness,” the flower sea at Guting Riverside Park uses warm-toned blooms in red, pink, yellow, orange, and purplish-red to convey the warmth happiness brings. The heart-shaped flower arrangement is made up of scarlet sage, petunias, cosmos, and Salvia farinacea, spreading outward across lush green lawns, symbolizing the close bonds of kinship, friendship, and love between people. In addition to the flower sea, many steel-structured art installations catch the eye—large picture frames and the word “LOVE” stand among the flower beds, adding fun to photo-taking. Moreover, there's a red heart-shaped archway, a white Roman-column pavilion, an European-style white clock tower, and a blue-and-white Aegean windmill. These vividly colored installations are popular spots for photos in the park.

Guting Riverside Park can be reached by exiting from Exit 4 of Taipei Metro Guting Station and heading toward Siyuan Street. For those who want to cycle, bikes can be rented at the Jinguang Rental Station. There are “balance bikes” available for preschool children, while younger kids can share a tandem bike with their parents. Guting Riverside Park is also close to the Hakka Theme Park and the Taipei Water Park, and you can also visit the nearby Treasure Hill International Art Village.
