The Chimei Museum will carry out annual maintenance from November 23 to 30 and will be temporarily closed to the public. Although the museum will be closed, the urban park area will remain open. Additionally, the recent special exhibition “My Dream • Your Dream • Our Dream – The Story of the Chimei Museum” has been extended until November 1.

The current special exhibition at the Chimei Museum, “My Dream • Your Dream • Our Dream – The Story of the Chimei Museum,” presents the story behind the museum’s creation. The magical experience of a 7-year-old boy visiting a museum led to the establishment of the Chimei Museum. After achieving success in his career, Wen-Long Hsu initiated his museum project, gathering talents for various types of museums, and established the Chimei Museum within the Chimei Ren-De factory premises in 1992. It was free to the public for twenty-one years, attracting tens of millions of visitors.

The current Chimei Museum in Tainan Urban Park is the result of a collaboration between the Tainan City Government and the Chimei Group, realizing the dream of a museum for all. This story begins with a dream and gradually becomes a reality. At 87 years old, Wen-Long Hsu, with his personal cultural aspirations, inspired the entire Chimei team to work diligently toward that dream, ultimately creating a museum that exceeded initial expectations and fulfilled the hopes of many.
