The 3rd Chinese Literature Reading Festival will be held during the Mid-Autumn holiday from September 24 to 28, featuring nearly 100 reading events at Taipei Huashan 1914 Creative Park, Kaohsiung Pier-2 Art Center, and various cultural venues. It also combines the currently popular grassy picnic concept, inviting everyone to come with a book in hand to read and bring literature into daily life.

This year’s Chinese Literature Reading Festival continues previous editions with programs including “Reading Theater,” “Reading Salon,” and “City Reading,” among others, along with nearly 100 reading activities. In addition to supporting Taiwanese authors and encouraging quality writing, the festival aims to connect with translators proficient in Chinese, translating Chinese literary works into various languages. It also hopes to establish Taiwan as a hub for learning the Chinese language.

This event also joins the current trend of picnics, launching a grassy reading session on September 27. Attendees are invited to bring their favorite book and enjoy the beauty of words. Additionally, there is a music installation titled “Beyond Words,” combining reading with music. Singers such as Yoga Lin and Wei Yu-xuan, music critic Ma Shifang, and Zhang Tiezhi are invited to choose a favorite song and read its lyrics aloud.
