As autumn arrives, although the maple leaves haven’t turned red yet, they have already sparked much anticipation. Besides the red of maple leaves, there are other vibrant and breathtaking autumn sceneries that shouldn’t be missed. Towards the end of the year, the bald cypresses in Tenway Garden, which resemble Christmas trees, all turn from lush green to golden yellow, and then to a moving shade of red. The layered color changes reveal the myriad beauties of autumn.

Located in Changhua County, Tenway Garden is tucked away along a garden path on Tianwei Highway. Upon entering the garden, you’ll find dozens of towering bald cypresses lining the winding pond walkways, resembling an ancient forest that has stood for ages — incredibly romantic. Since tall bald cypresses are native to swampy areas, the garden has created an ecological waterway to allow them to thrive in Taiwan. Typically sprouting in spring, their leaves transition from golden yellow to red around mid-December to January as deep autumn sets in, presenting a gradient beauty like a painter’s palette.
