After the success of Eslite’s Harbor City-inspired Pier-2 Store in Kaohsiung, on October 6, Eslite opened the “Eslite Zhongxiao SOGO Store” at Pacific SOGO Department Store in Taipei’s East District, positioning it as a “hidden library in the city.” A team of experienced stationery and reading professionals has curated over 100 Japanese stationery brands along with a diverse selection of Japanese-themed books and magazines. A Japan-themed exhibition was also planned for the opening, aiming to offer readers in Taipei’s East District—a hub of fashion and trends—a refined reading space that combines a beautiful lifestyle and refined taste.

The newly reopened Eslite Zhongxiao SOGO Store, after a five-year hiatus, occupies a 160-ping space that presents a multifaceted hidden library. In addition to the brand-new Japanese theme, it is divided into four major themes—nourishment for the mind, spiritual perspective, leisurely exploration, and knowledge classroom. It offers a rich selection of books and magazines including new information, literature and arts, parenting and humanities. The store also includes home goods, household items, and business essentials to meet various reading and lifestyle needs.

In addition to catering to readers’ visual and intellectual senses, Eslite Zhongxiao SOGO Store has also set up a vinyl music corner in this compact yet exquisite hidden library. With a focus on classic vinyl records, it recommends iconic LPs and features 30 exclusive Eslite items including Disney-colored vinyls, Rolling Stones exclusives, and Beatles records. By combining books, objects, and vinyl music, the store hopes to transform reading into a slow-living fashion amid the hustle and bustle of urban life, making Eslite Zhongxiao SOGO Store a personal retreat for readers to find peace for the body and soul.

During the opening period, Eslite Zhongxiao SOGO Store launched its first wave of promotions, featuring a Japan-themed exhibition and a special Japanese-style surprise gift bag. From now until October 31, customers who spend NT$1,000 or more will receive a premium Twinings tea selection as a “Tea & Reading Gift,” while those spending NT$2,500 or more will get a “Fragrance & Reading Gift”—a deLightful time scented candle. Moreover, during the first week of the opening on October 10 (Saturday) afternoon, two workshops on planting and handcrafting will be held, inviting readers to create eucalyptus-dried flower wreaths and hand-tied bouquets filled with forest vibes, experiencing the beauty of creative living together.
