Miniature Landmark Theme Park Unveils 1:25 Scale Taipei 101 in Japan

Taipei 101 can now be seen in Japan too！The Japanese theme park "Tobu World Square" has invested nearly 100 million yen to build a 1:25 scale model of Taipei 101 within the park. The miniature structure was officially completed and celebrated with a grand opening ceremony on October 4.

Tobu World Square is located in Nikko City, Tochigi Prefecture, in Japan's Kanto region. It is a renowned local tourist attraction—an outdoor world architecture theme park reminiscent of a miniature world. Since its opening in 1993, the park has accumulated 102 famous architectural models, including 45 UNESCO World Heritage sites, all reproduced at a 1:25 scale. Each structure showcases exquisite craftsmanship and meticulous attention to detail. Even the surrounding landscaping is scaled down to match the buildings, creating a seamless and naturally integrated appearance that exemplifies the Japanese pursuit of perfection in craftsmanship.

The Taipei 101 model in the park is also built at a 1:25 scale, standing seven stories tall at 21 meters. It took six months to construct and cost nearly one hundred million New Taiwan dollars, finally being completed in October 2015. The Taipei 101 model is positioned to face the Tokyo Skytree model within the park, symbolizing the friendly relationship between the two cities. This marks a further deepening of collaboration this year between Taipei 101 and Tobu Group—the parent company of Tokyo Skytree—following two consecutive years of close cooperation. Authorized by Tobu Group, Tobu World Square created the scaled-down version of Taipei 101, making it the tallest building in the park. It now stands alongside other globally renowned landmark models such as the Empire State Building in the U.S. and the Eiffel Tower in France.
